Jamf Self Service has a New Look

The Technology Department recently upgraded our mobile device management system, Jamf, and along with that came a new look for Self Service on your MacBook Air laptop. Even though the look is different, the functionality hasn�t changed much. You can still download and install applications.


Bookmarks still have shortcuts to many of Barrington 220�s most popular web services.


Over time, expect to see even more changes to the look of the new Self Service. Soon we�ll introduce graphics to the top of the Self Service window to give it a more pleasant appearance. We�ll also be making changes to the Self Service icon which will eventually be more in line with the Barrington 220 brand.

If you haven�t looked at Self Service on your MacBook Air in a while, we encourage you to launch the app and have a look.

The Self Service app may be located on your Dock.
It is also located in the Applications folder.

Learning on the Go with YouTube Subscriptions

YouTube is used to share home videos, opinions on the latest Star Wars movie, highlights from sporting events, and much more. Educators use YouTube to share insights into their teaching strategies, resources they've created, and technology tools. At the same time, many education service providers use YouTube to deliver training, inspire teachers, and introduce new technology. How can we keep up with it all? By subscribing to YouTube channels from some of the brightest minds and the most helpful services, teachers can more easily keep up. YouTube subscriptions are easy to access and follow. Five Elements of a Perfect Tweet

The Barrington 220 response to using Twitter as a professional learning network (PLN) has exploded this school year! Several schools have highlighted teachers using Twitter by adding posters or signs showing Twitter accounts outside of classrooms. Since more and more teachers are beginning to use Twitter regularly, I thought this would be a good time to review five elements of what makes the "perfect" tweet. The perfect Twitter post has five key parts: the message , a hashtag , a tag , a link , and a photo or video . The Message Twitter is currently reviewing the number of characters allowed in a single tweet, but as of right now, you are allotted 140 characters per tweet. Therefore, word choice is a very important aspect of creating a tweet. Of the five elements, the most important aspect of a perfect tweet is the message.
