New Copy/Print System Implemented in All Barrington 220 Buildings

New Toshiba multifunction printers have now been installed in all buildings. As the project winds down, I'd like to thank all staff members for your patience during this transition. I would also like to thank my colleagues in the Department of Technology & Innovation for their hard work in making this rollout as smooth as possible. Here are a few notes about the project: 184 Toshiba multifunction devices (print/copy/scan) have been deployed in 13 buildings. 1,100 staff members have successfully enrolled their ID badge with the managed print system. Over 4,000 print or copy jobs per day are run through our printers with very little trouble from these new devices. Staff members can now release their print jobs at any available printer within the district.  Print jobs remain in queue for up to 48 hours. For those who scan, our new printers will scan and send a document to your email address without the need for typing your email address. The badge authentication at the printer tak

Introducing the New IC Student Profile View

Image
The school year started with some useful changes to the Infinite Campus Grade Book, Campus Instruction. Today we are happy to announce a new feature in Campus Tools, the Student Profile.  Locating key student information in one tab makes it easier for staff to obtain a snapshot view of how the student is progressing. The following instructions and screen shots are provided by Infinite Campus and can be found along with videos and tutorials in Campus Community. The Student Profile tab displays a current snapshot of the student's grades, attendance data, behavior incidents, and course work. This is a read-only tab, but users (counselors, school administrators, etc.) can view detailed information from this tab. Student data is organized into cards for each section: Census, In-Progress Grades, Attendance, Behavior, and Student To Do. Data is accurate as of the current date and time. Create Digital Books with iBooks Author

When teachers and students wish to take their Clips-created video the next level with additional tools, they can use iMovie, an app dedicated to creating videos with effects meant to help the video creator shape the story. Similarly, iBooks Author gives writers additional functions and freedom to take their written creation above what even the Book Creator app can provide. iBooks Author is a macOS app , available for free from the Mac App Store. iBooks Author uses the familiar tools and layouts of Pages, Numbers, and Keynote to help users create a multi-touch book, a type of interactive and enhanced digital book. With iBooks Author, videos can expand to full screen, photos can be presented as albums, and "widgets" can be used to check for understanding or demonstrate a concept using an animation.  Some authors choose to take the books they've written and create digital copies without adding any further features. However, authors who use the iBooks Author app to create mul
